At SBC Kenya Limited, the authorized producers of Pepsi-Cola products, food safety is fundamental to everything we do. We are committed to producing safe and quality carbonated soft drinks and primary packaging materials that consistently meet customer, statutory and regulatory requirements while protecting consumer health and strengthening stakeholder confidence through an effective Food Safety Management System aligned with FSSC 22000.
Our Food Safety Commitments
Our Food Safety & Quality Policy provides the framework for establishing, maintaining and continually improving our food safety management system.
1. Our Food Safety Commitment
Establish, implement, maintain and continually improve an effective Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in accordance with FSSC 22000, consistently processing and packaging safe, quality carbonated soft drinks and primary packaging materials of Pepsi-Cola Company and meeting and exceeding our customer requirements.
2. Compliance and Food Safety Culture
Comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as the mutually agreed food safety and quality requirements of all stakeholders, and practise a positive food safety culture at all levels of production.
3. People, Communication and Competence
Develop the competence of our people through training, awareness and effective communication, ensuring SBC employees, contractors and relevant interested parties understand and fulfil their food safety responsibilities.
4. Objectives and Management Review
Establish SMART food safety objectives, and have top management review the FSMS at planned intervals to ensure its continued suitability, adequacy and effectiveness.
5. Governance and Continual Improvement
This Policy Statement provides the framework for establishing and reviewing our food safety objectives. It is communicated throughout the organization, made available to relevant interested parties, and reviewed periodically to ensure its continued suitability, adequacy, effectiveness and alignment with SBC's strategic direction.
